Pumpkin carving

We had a great time last weekend finally carving our pumpkin for Halloween. We opted for a silly ghost face. Jackson is showing off his mad ghost face (above). Here's Anna showing off the pumpkin
Jackson was pretty excited he got to carve it. His favorite part was eating the toasted pumpkin seeds though (a family favorite)

Birthday Pie

Happy Birthday Barb and Jack!! (a.k.a. Aunt Bob and Uncle Dak) We are loving our birthday tradition of celebrating each couples' birthday month by treating the other couple to a special dinner. Lucky for us Jack and Barb chose Fireside Pies. Nothing says Happy Birthday like some good pizza and of course great company!!

Typical

Just a typical morning for Jackson. Some people read the paper over breakfast but Jackson prefers books.

Blue Mater-- $3.99, Daddy becoming a hero--priceless

I put Jackson down for his rest time today and as I was closing the door he said:

"WAIT Mama! Is you going to sleep too? Because I not going to sleep. I'm going to play and play and play with my cars and then when I wake up Daddy will be here."

Me: "Jackson, Daddy won't be home until after dinner. He'll be home to read you stories tonight"

Jackson:" yeah cuz when Daddy gets home I'm going to ruuuunnn and hug him and say 'Daddy! Daddy! I missed you soooo much' and then I'm going to hug him and snuggle him and then Daddy will give me blue Mater...(GASP)!!" Okay love you Mama, see you night" (see you night is a classic Jackson phrase that he says everytime I tuck him in)

Ever since Mike left this weekend for a conference in San Francisco Jackson has been obsessed with the idea that Mike is bringing a Blue Mater (from CARS) back with him. Not really sure where he got that idea but thank goodness Target had one today (whew)! $3.99 is well worth Daddy looking like a hero tonight.

Weekend Warriors

The weather this weekend was chilly and cloudy but not windy so it was perfect for lots of outside fun. We took full advantage!

Jackson even helped us build a couple of outside fires by picking out all the wood himself
Anna enjoyed snuggling up by the fire
Jackson got some t-ball practice in
And then we read lots of books by the fire (inside)
Today I took the kids to Kids Kastle at Jackson's request. We were the only ones there. It was perfect!

Good weekend fun

Preview

Just a little Halloween preview:
Is it a dinosaur??

Bear was really intrigued by Jackson's tail and grabbed it and was dragging him around the playroom--it was pretty funny!
And just to be clear Jackson told me: "I'm just pretending to be a dinosaur. I really just Jackson"

Lazy weekend

With no major plans this weekend we just took it easy around the house.
Here's Anna hanging out with her blocks Busy exploring the furniture

And just having fun watching Jackson Jackson is quite the entertainer (for us and Anna that is)

Jackson's fort
inside the fort....

And we are not sure what kind of a statement he's trying to go for here but definitely an interesting choice of jammies (not sure where the broom comes in or the wooden shoes)!

Viewing Discretion Advised

This palm sized visitor entered our home the other night.....

Along with 100 of it's babies!
This is about the creepiest thing I've seen. This massive spider (as big as my palm---no joke) ran into our kitchen the other night. When Mike killed it about 100 tiny baby spiders started running out in every direction. Right out of a horror film. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
