As the weather is finally getting a little colder Jackson has been thinking a lot about Christmas. He's had many questions and a lot of excitement surrounding the upcoming holidays and events. Here are a couple of our favorites!
1. Jackson has been practicing his snowflake making and when we had some friends over last week he wanted to make sure they didn't think they were real "because if they think they are real then they will want to go outside and build a snowman and they will be sad when they go outside and there is no snow."
2. Jackson is really worried about Anna's inability to speak clearly when sitting on Santa's lap. "How will Anna get a present from Santa if she doesn't tell him what she wants? I KNOW!! I can tell Santa FOR her! I'll make sure to tell Santa that Anna wants a new baby doll. Yes, I think that is what she would like."
3. We have decided that we clearly vacation way too much in the Rocky Mountains---"When we go to sit on Santa's lap do you think that he will mind if I pet his Elk?"
4. "Are you SURE that the day after Thanksgiving we can put up our Christmas decorations because I'm so excited I can't wait any longer!!!"
5. This one actually made me cry on the way to preschool the other day. There is a cat our neighbors had blown up in their yard for Halloween and Anna was obsessed with it. When they took it down both kids have been sad and Anna asks for Mau (a.k.a. cat) every time we get in the car. Jackson has been really sad for Anna and the other day on the way to school he said "Mama, I know a way to make Anna not be sad about Mau. I can get her a toy Mau for Christmas and then she won't be sad because she will have her own. Yes please can I go and pick out a Mau for Anna, please mama??"---Words from the nicest big brother ever. Sometimes I think he thinks about her needs and feelings more than his own
