Murphy's Law

Mike was out of town last weekend for his annual guys trip so the kids and I had big plans to still have a fun weekend even without Daddy. BUT I wasn't prepared for the excitement.

#1 In the middle of the night on Friday I had to take Jackson to the Emergency Room with a severe case of croup (a neighbor was nice enough to come over to stay with Anna).
#2 Sunday morning Anna fell and chipped her two front teeth
#3 Bear decided she didn't want to be left out and started limping putting no weight down on one of her legs.

The result:
Overall it was still a pretty okay weekend. Jackson is recovering slowly. Anna will have the opportunity to have her teeth repaired when she's a little older and as for Bear...well...she decided to start walking again.
WHEW :) We hope Daddy isn't out of town any time soon.

Big stuff

Even though Anna is still small enough to crawl into my bathroom drawer (her favorite morning activity) she still thinks she's bigger than she really is! (and a whole 19.1 pounds at her 15 month appointment. Holding strong in the 3%--go ANNA!) We are finding that it really is true what they say about 2nd children. They do things much much earlier than the 1st born! Anna just wants to do everything her big brother does. Here she is trying to ride his bike...

... wishing her feet reached the gas pedal....

Jackson is nice enough to give her a little push on the jeep

And here she is trying her hardest to figure out this digger

She already figured out how to walk down the stairs (not crawl or go down backwards on her tummy but actually walk holding on to the rail) just like Jackson does. She likes to feed herself (like Jackson) and do all the cool thing a big brother does.

Welcome Summer

With weather already in the 90s Summer is definitely here! The kids love water entertainment and who says a little rain has to spoil the fun? Just use an umbrella!

And when you gotta go you gotta go (yes this is our house, apparently it's much more fun to pee in the grass than go inside to use the toilet)!

Hanging out in the backyard. Jackson said he was a bridge

A little pool fun

And here's Jackson protecting Anna from Bear's poop while I ran inside to grab the towels

new family photographer

We have a new photographer in our family--JACKSON! Here are some recent shots he took. Pretty good!

More pictures

Anna reaching her hand out to Jackson in the car And Jackson handing her a toy (What a sweet sweet big brother)

Family of Geese that live in our neighborhood pond

Dinosaur Valley State Park. For Mother's Day we decided to drive out to this State Park and do some searching for dino tracks (they actually have real tracks in the river beds). Jackson thought this was way cooler than the tracks though

Here we are doing some light hiking at the State Park

Jackson and Mike deciding whether or not to cross the VERY fast flowing river

Another Blastball shot

Random hat in Banana Republic

Jackson is very into his clothes these days and MUST pick them out himself. He likes to lay out his clothes the night before so he is ready to go in the morning. Here are two outfits (he got excited and did two days worth of clothes) he put out all by himself.

Needed update

Here are some pictures over the last month.

Jackson using Bear as a pillow to read some books Mike with the kids at Jackson's open house

Anna and Mike playing at Blastball practice

Sweet girl

Anna feeding herself (YES!!! I said she can feed herself!!--AUGH) homemade ice cream that Mike and Jackson made. YUM

Me with the two cutest kids ever Anna hanging out in the afternoon

Now that Anna has been walking for about 6 weeks life sure is different. I love the walking stage over crawling but it is really sad that she doesn't crawl anymore. It's hard to believe she is getting so old. She and Jackson really can play together now and it's like we truly do have 2 kids

birthdays and visitors

Life gets pretty busy with two active children. That and the fact that Mike now works at home (and our home computer is in his office) puts a little damper in my abilities to get many blog postings done. Here are some pictures from last month. Mike and I both celebrated birthdays and had two sets of visitors so it was quite a busy month.

Here we are at some friends' houses celebrating birthdays! Jackson trying to blow out Mike's candles
My yummy birthday cake made by mom. Nothing like a homemade angel food cake. YUM!
