Fun in Little Rock

We met Uncle Jack and Aunt Barb in Little Rock over the weekend. It's almost been 4 months since we've seen them and we sure were missing them! We started the day at Wonder Place. Here's Dr. Anna and Aunt Barb at the water table Next Jackson and Anna checked out the slide

For some reason our camera thought Little Rock was too humid and these shots came out fuzzy

Upside down Jackson

The next day we tried to go to this really cool park but it was so hot we had to go back to the hotel for some extra swimming. Here we are all sweaty
And now look how sweaty we are---yuck!
The kids were real troopers in the car. Jackson got a little zoned out yesterday

And then about an hour out of Dallas everyone kind of lost it. Jackson went into hiding and Anna finally fell asleep

Kids just wanna have fun

Anna recently got some dress up things and "girlie toys" from neighbors and friends and Jackson is also quite entertained by them! Here's Anna dressed up as a princess---she LOVES the shoes! And Jackson was quite interested in the barbies and my little ponies

Jackson breaking it down for the camera Anna showing off her purses (and new pigtails)

and taking good care of her baby. Baby gets lots of hugs and walks during the days

Another favorite activity is brushing teeth

We are really enjoying our Summer so far--even if the temp outside is over 100. Luckily we have access to many pools to enjoy during the days.

CIRCUS CIRCUS CIRCUS

We took Jackson to the Circus on Thursday night. We had so much fun and he absolutely loved it! He'd been telling us all week that he was staying home with Anna and the sitter but now that he's been he decided the circus "was the best day EVER"!
The afternoon started off with swim lessons then on to dinner at the restaurant of Jackson's choosing. The 3 of us dined at classy Taco Bell before driving into Dallas. The circus didn't start until 7:30pm and Jackson was so in awe over it all that he didn't even notice he was tired until he got into the car and crashed. We usually do not buy into all this crazy toys/food, etc. but we decided to spoil Jackson a little since after all it was his day right?

And here he is with his $20 toy and $12 cotton candy (which came with a free hat afterall)

And before we made it to the interstate this was Jackson! It was so much fun having an outing just the 3 of us.

Playing with food

Sometimes you have to play with food to get certain people (we won't name names....see below) to eat their food. Jackson has always been a great eater but lately it's just not his thing
Here we have hummus/crackers/apple slices

Next is "banana surprise" (a.k.a. crackers w/p'nut butter, bananas, choc. syrup and mini choc chips)

And this one is cheese/crackers/banana/blue berries/bacon

Quick shot taken of Jackson reading with Anna the other morning and showing off his silly bands that all the kids seem to be crazy about

Look who's PREGNANT!!!!

AUNTIE EM and Uncle Karl are PREGGOS!!! Woo Hoo I'm going to be an AUNT! Mike and I are super excited to be Aunt and Uncle to baby Sweetness!! (That's the name of the new little one). Jackson and Anna are excited to be having a cousin. We won't know what this little one is until January but we are all excited! Emily and Karl broke the news to us last month in Colorado and we've had to keep the news under secret lock and key until now!

When Emily and Karl visited last month we made sure to celebrate with them and do LOTS and LOTS of baby shopping! Emily was loaded down with tons of maternity clothes from me and a few friends and also we sent them home with every baby essential we could part with from cradle to toys.

The kids helped us celebrate too and one night we went out without the kids to have some good adult time!

Then it was off for lots of baby stuff. Here we are getting Emily registered at Babies R Us. It took us almost all day but I think we went through every department and got some great items on her registry
And here is the bedding she picked out for Sweetness at Pottery Barn Kids. Love that store. The whole baby shopping day was so much fun!!

Sweetness is going to be so lucky to have such wonderful loving parents! We can't wait to share in this journey with them both and cannot wait to meet our niece/nephew next year!!!

Uncle Tim comes to Dallas for July 4

YAY! Uncle Tim finally made it to Dallas!! We understand....Dallas is hardly as exciting as living in the center of San Francisco. We were thrilled to have him visit and even though it was hot managed to do some fun things.

We took Tim out to Dallas for dinner on Saturday night and enjoyed a great meal Then July 4 we let the kids play in the pool while enjoying some fresh watermelon (which surprisingly neither really like)

Uncle Tim with Jackson and Anna
WHEEE!!!

Tim and I left the kids and Mike at home and went to the fireworks. We got there just in time to hear the band play a few good songs

On Monday Tim wanted to experience some Texas BBQ so we headed to Rudy's at Tim's request. It was fabulous!! Here's Jackson testing the corn on the cob---rigged up style

And that afternoon Tim and I escaped for some brother/sister time

then it was back home for a quick dinner before taking Tim to the airport.

Jackson and Anna were loving the outdoor time this weekend
