Flowers or weeds?

They aren't Texas Bluebonnets (which is the flower that EVERYONE gets their picture made with) but they are pretty. I've been meaning to drag the kids across the street for some picture time and finally made it over this afternoon. Here are a few shots of the kids in flowers Jackson did his best to hug Anna it just didn't come out so well

Jackson picked quite a nice bouquet for the new girl that just moved in!

Easter--Finally!

Here are our Easter pics finally! We started out the celebrations this year with our neighborhood Easter egg hunt. Jackson and Mike were racing to find eggs
Anna thought it was pretty fun too

Checking out their loot
Then we had to dye eggs (of course). I bought the generic package though so there were only 3 different colors.
And on Easter morning the Easter Bunny brought a CHOCOLATE BUNNY! Jackson told me about a week before Easter that last year the Easter Bunny brought him a chocolate bunny so I didn't want him to think this year the Bunny forgot.
Anna settled for Daddy's homemade pancakes instead
Here we are Easter morning. Jackson didn't want to be in the picture
So we captured him here instead
Anna with her new white sandals
And finally after Church hunting eggs in the backyard left by The Bunny

BLASTBALL--Go TEAM RANGERS

Blastball, for those of you who haven't heard of it (we hadn't until last year), is basically beginner t-ball. There is one base that makes a horn sound when you jump on it. Each kid gets to hit in each inning and there are no winners or losers--my kind of game! In the outfield you try to catch the ball and yell blastball before the hitter reaches the base. Another plus is the parents can be on the field with the kids. So far we've had two games and three practices. Jackson really seems to like it and has surprised us with his hitting skills.

Ready for his first game Hitting the ball
The team cheerleader
Hanging out in the dugout cheering on his teammates
There he is No. 3
Running back to outfield after a quick high five to mom for catching the ball and yelling blastball
In the ready position
Jackson's favorite part---the snack at the end of the game!
Go RANGERS!!!

Spring Break trip

The kids and I went to Oak Ridge for Jackson's first Spring Break. We had a great time visiting everyone. A huge highlight was getting to do lots with my sister, Emily who was also on Spring Break---although it never feels like enough time together. We took a nice hike in the Smokies too. Here are Jackson and Dow checking out a waterfall
Anna likes hiking too so that made it even more fun
The highlight for Jackson was throwing these "gumballs" into the rushing water and watching where they went
Me trying to get a shot with both kids
Anna sleeping--riding really wears a girl out!

Auntie Em and Uncle Karl get some deck time with the kids
Jackson taking a break next to Mimi and Dow's infamous bottle tree
Jackson loves running in the woods at Mimi and Dow's
girl time with Auntie Em

And of course you have to wrestle with Uncle Karl

Dad and his girls
Hanging out at the airport waiting to fly back to Dallas
saying goodbyes
Anna saying "more Mimi and Dow"
And you're never too young to fight over the window seat!
